Résumé
Désireux de s’émanciper de la maltraitance clinique ainsi que de l’arrogance théorique à l’égard d’une population aux identifications de genre atypiques, l’auteur de cet article se propose de restituer son expérience, ses épreuves et ses doutes, à partir de l’écoute offerte par un adulte confronté aux problématiques transidentitaires. Il aborde ainsi dans une perspective interactionniste les enjeux intrapsychiques et les normes socioculturelles qui participent à la souffrance du patient suivi en institution, ainsi que les fragilités du/de la thérapeute et les obstacles contretransférentiels qu’il/elle rencontre.

In dit artikel neemt de auteur afstand van de inadequate klinische behandeling en de theoretische arrogantie ten aanzien van een populatie met atypische gender identificaties. Hij beschrijft zijn ervaringen, moeilijkheden en twijfels vanuit een psychoanalytisch standpunt in zijn interacties met een volwassene die geconfronteerd wordt met transidentiteit en dit in een institutionele setting. Vanuit een interactionele benadering bespreekt hij de intrapsychische aspecten en de socioculturele normen die bijdragen tot het lijden van de patiënt alsook de kwetsbaarheid van de therapeut en de specifieke tegenoverdrachtsproblemen.
Designer baby or sublimator of gender : a transference prematurely terminated
Eager to distance himself from the clinical mistreatment and theoretical arrogance shown towards a population with atypical gender identifications, the author of this article narrates his experience, difficulties, and doubts from a psychoanalytic standpoint in his interactions with an adult confronted with transidentity issues in an institutional setting. He thus addresses from an interactionnist perspective the intrapsychic concerns and sociocultural norms that contribute to the patient’s suffering, as well as the therapist’s own vulnerability and countertransference problems in this situation.
