Bion as a supervisor — Reflections based on the Sâo Paolo seminars
This article is the second part of ‹Bion in Brazil› as presented in the posthumous volume Clinical seminars and other works and discusses Bion’s clinical supervision seminars in Sâo Paulo in 1978, which followed the seminars he had held in Brasilia in 1976. Some crucial concepts of the late Bion, ‹O›, ‹language of achievement›, ‹caesura›, ‹no memory or desire›, are illustrated by clinical supervision vignettes. Bion’s last scientific articles, Emotional turbulence (1976), On a quotation from Freud (1975), Evidence (1976) and Making the best of a bad job (1979) are discussed as well.
