Visages de l’étrangeté et formes du rêve
Résumé
La conception psychanalytique des fonctions du rêve doit s’élargir. Loin de se limiter à le seule réalisation de certains désirs, sa fonction psychique peut être conçue comme une activité de transformation à la limite entre le monde interne et externe, le passé le présent, l’identité et l’étrangeté, la répétition et la nouveauté. De cette manière, on peut comprendre que la forme du rêve, c’est à dire les modes de représentations mis en jeu par celui-ci, sont à l’image des formes du fonctionnement psychique global de chacun d’entre nous. Les formes que prennent le rêve en début de cure, sont dès lors des indicateurs précieux de la manière dont chaque patient va utiliser l’étrangeté de l’analyste.

De psychoanalytici dienen hun visie over de functies van de droom te verruimen.
Zeer zeker is er de klassieke opvatting dat de droom een wensvervulling is. Maar we kunnen hem ook zien als een transformatieactiviteit op de grens tussen onze interne en externe wereld, tussen het verleden en het heden, tussen identiteit en vreemdheid, tussen herhaling en nieuwe dingen.
Zo wordt het ons duidelijk dat de vorm van de droom – zijnde de representatiemodi die hij gebruikt – een afspiegeling is van de vormen waarin ons psychisme globaal functioneert.
Derhalve zijn de gedaanten waaronder de dromen in de beginfase van de psychoanalytische behandeling verschijnen, ons een kostbare hulp om ons rekenschap te geven van de wijze waarop iedere patiënt zich de vreemdheid van de psychoanalyticus gaat ten nutte maken.
Summary
The psychoanalytic conception of the functions of the dream has to be widened. Far from being limited solely to the realisation of certain desires, its psychic function may be conceived as an activity of transformation at the limit between the internal and external worlds, the past and the present, identity and strangeness, repetition and novelty. In this way, the form of the dream, that is, the representational modes employed in it, can be understood as an image of the total psychic functioning of each one of us. The forms which the dream takes at the beginning of an analysis are thus precious indications of the manner in which each patient is going to use the analyst's singularity.
