Summary

This article describes three years of psychotherapy with a child whose psychological functioning has the form of a mosaic with an autistic part, a schizo- paranoïd part and a relatively healthy part with normal cognitive development.

Both the analysis of the transference and contertransference as well as an understanding of the magnificent drawings produced by the patient enabled the autistic enclave and the earlies experiences to be elaborated.

The authors hypothesis, that the situation resembles the complex of the dead mother, as described by Andre Green, would explain the existence of these different and concomitant psychic levels.
