Résumé
Animé par le désir de comprendre, mais surtout passionné par celui de soigner, Sándor Ferenczi n’eut de cesse d’explorer la situation et le processus analytique dans tous leurs aspects. S’il comprenait parfaitement la métapsychologie freudienne, il pensait que la technique analytique risquait d’être le parent pauvre de la théorie et qu’elle menaçait de dériver vers une intellectualisation peu profitable pour l’analysant. Pour lui, la séance d’analyse était toujours une expérience émotionnelle qui pouvait faire surgir des zones inexplorées, des souffrances insoupçonnées qui interpellaient la théorie et surtout la position d’un analyste trop sûr de ses référents théoriques et de sa neutralité. Brillant clinicien, il devait découvrir, aux limites de l’analysable de l’époque pour l’analysant comme pour l’analyste, nombre de concepts qui, sur le moment, lui valurent le reproche «d’enfant terrible de la psychanalyse» mais qui se révélèrent d’une grande fécondité pour la théorie contemporaine. Samenvatting
Gedreven door het verlangen om te begrijpen, maar vooral door de passie om te genezen, hield Sandor Ferenczi nooit op de analytische situatie en het analytische proces in al zijn aspecten te onderzoeken. Hoewel hij de Freudiaanse metapsychologie perfect begreep, meende hij dat de analytische techniek het risico liep het stiefkind van de theorie te worden en dat zij dreigde af te glijden naar een intellectualisatie die niet erg winstgevend was voor de analysant. Voor hem was de analytische sessie altijd een emotionele ervaring die onontgonnen gebieden aan het licht kon brengen, onvermoed lijden dat de theorie op de proef stelde en vooral de positie van een analyticus die te zeker was van zijn theoretische referenties en zijn neutraliteit. Als briljant clinicus zou hij, aan de grenzen van het toenmalige analyseerbare, zowel voor de analysant als voor de analyticus, een aantal concepten ontdekken die hem destijds het verwijt van «het enfant terrible van de psychoa- nalyse» opleverden, maar die van grote vruchtbaarheid bleken te zijn voor de hedendaagse theorie. Een fascinerend klinisch avontuur!
Metapsychology and technical innovations
Driven by the desire to understand, but above all by the passion to heal, Sandor Ferenczi never ceased to explore the analytical situation and process in all its aspects. Although he understood Freudian metapsychology perfectly, he thought that the analytical technique risked being the poor relation of the theory and that it threatened to drift towards an intellectualisation that was not very profitable for the analysand. For him, the analytical session was always an emotional experience that could bring to light unexplored areas, unsuspected suffering that challenged the theory and above all the position of an analyst who was too sure of his theoretical references and his neutrality. A brilliant clinician, he was to discover, at the limits of the analysable of the time for the analysand as well as for the analyst, a number of concepts which at the time earned him the reproach of ‘the enfant terrible of psychoanalysis’ but which proved to be of great fertility for contemporary theory.
