Nous tentons d’éclairer l’apport de Bion au travail du négatif élaboré par Green. Effacement, hallucination négative, blanc de la pensée, psychose blanche, trous psychiques renvoient à l’impossibilité d’élaborer la frustration, de même qu’à la destruction des capacités de représentation, à l’attaque des liens. La distinction entre absence de l’objet et destruction de l’objet s’inscrivent dans cette réflexion. En toile de fond, quête de sens et vérité apparaissent comme le point nodal commun à la pensée des deux auteurs.
