L’auteur émet l’hypothèse que la métabolisation psychique d’une expérience émotionnelle implique, outre la constitution des représentations pulsionnelles (privilégiées par Freud), la figuration de l’impact de l’objet et l’auto-symbolisation du mode de fonctionnement qui en découle chez le sujet. Le rêve en est le meilleur indice.
Trois vignettes cliniques illustrent les modalités envisagées.
Les figurations de l’impact de l’objet et l’auto-symbolisation du mode de fonctionnement psychique sont des symbolisations primaires, non liées au refoulement et au retour du refoulé.
C’est le « moi inconscient élaboratif » qui est à l’origine de ce type de métabolisation. Le moi Pcs/Cs peut en être totalement clivé.

De auteur postuleert de volgende hypothese : de psychische verwerking van een emotionele ervaring impliceert, naast het genereren van driftmatige voorstellingen (zoals door Freud bij voorkeur benadrukt), tevens de figuratie van het impact van het object en de autosymbolisatie van het niveau van psychisch functioneren bij het subject. De droom is hiertoe de beste aanwijzing.
Drie klinische vignettes illustreren de modaliteiten die belicht worden.
De figuratie van het impact van het object en de autosymbolisatie van het niveau van psychisch functioneren zijn primaire symbolisaties, die niet voortvloeien uit het mechanisme van de verdringing en de terugkeer van het verdrongene.
Het is het “ bewerkende onbewuste ik ” dat aan de oorsprong ligt van dit type metabolisatie. Het “ Pcs/Cs-ik ”kan hiervan totaal gesplitst zijn.

The author puts forward the hypothesis that the psychic metabolisation of an emotional experience implies, in addition to the forming of the representation of drives (given great importance by Freud), the representation (figuration) of the impact of the object and the "autosymbolisation" of the mode of functioning which follows from it, in the subject. The dream is the best evidence of this.
