En réfléchissant à l'interprétation, l'auteur s'interroge sur ce qui lui donne sa force transformationnelle. A partir d'une réflexion issue d'une analyse dans laquelle le rapport aux mots est particulier, il se pose la question du langage préverbal, réflexion qui va déboucher sur une interrogation à propos du préconscient.

Nadenkend over de interpretatie rijst de vraag waarom deze tot transformaties kan leiden. Aan de hand van overwegingen die opkwamen bij de analyse van een patiënte waar er een bizondere verhouding tot de gebruikte woorden bestond, komt de schrijfster tot de vraag in hoever de preverbale taal belangrijk was. Al deze bedenkingen leiden tenslotte naar de vraag in hoever het Voorbewuste hier een rol speelt.
Summary
Reflecting upon interpretation, the author examines what it is that gives it its transforming force. Starting from a reflection issuing from an analysis in which there is a particular relationship with words, she raises the question of pre-verbal language, a reflection which opens up a series of questions concerning the preconscious.
