L'article traite de l'inconscient en tant que système (l'Ics.). Sa naissance, son existence temporaire comme la plus importante partie de la vie psychique, et sa disparition vers l'arrière-plan du fonctionnement psychique, y sont examinés.
Quelques observations d'enfants, mais surtout différents types de rêves sont cités comme illustration de la richesse, la perception subtile et les possibilités de communication de l'Ics

Het artikel handelt over het onbewuste als systeem (het Obw.), dat bekeken wordt in zijn ontstaan, zijn tijdelijk bestaan als belangrijkste deel van de psychische wereld, en zijn verdwijnen naar de achtergrond van het psychisch funkioneren.
Enkele observaties van kinderen, maar vooral bepaalde types van dromen worden aangevoerd als illustratie van de rijkdom, het fijnzinnig waarnemingsvermogen, en de kommunikatieve mogelijkheden van het Obw.

The article deals with the unconscious as a system (the Ucs.), its development, its temporary existence as the most important part of the psychic world, and its retreat into the background of psychic functioning
Particular types of dreams and some observations of children are brought together to illustrate the richness, the sensitive perceptive faculties, and the communicative capacities of the Ucs.
