Summary

The psychoanalysis of certain men brings into evidence a problematic issue concerning masculine identity. These analysands show evidence of a difficulty in virile affirmation, which, over and above the conflictualisation linked with castration anxiety, refers to a narcissistic core. The analysis of this shows a persisting fascination for an encounter with the mother at the core of which they are identified as a girl which hinders their liberty to assume their masculine identity.
